My Story
Growing up, I experienced firsthand how transformative sports can be. Athletics taught me discipline, resilience, and the power of preparation. But over the past few years, I saw how many talented athletes fell through the cracks, not because they lacked ability, but because they lacked a clear roadmap and emotional support.
My passion truly took shape during my Master of Public Health internship where I worked alongside varsity high school basketball and football teams for two consecutive seasons. It was behind the scenes where I saw the real struggle: athletes weren't just battling for playing time; they were wrestling with complex eligibility rules and intense emotional pressure.
"I kept seeing the same pattern: talented kids with big dreams, but no roadmap. Parents wanted to help but didn't know where to start. That's when I knew this work had to become more than just strategic advisory."
From a psychiatric and public health perspective, I realized that mental health is a massive piece of the performance puzzle. I saw that frustration, anger, and burnout on the field often had roots in things happening far away from sports. I began helping coaches identify these underlying issues, bridging the gap between performance and personal well-being.
Today, through Choosing Change, I combine my medical background and MPH experience to reach more families. Whether it's a one-on-one session, a team workshop, or a keynote: my mission is to provide the structure, clarity, and mental resilience athletes need to succeed in their next chapter.
